Entire region must take action against Zionist regime: Iranian MP
TEHRAN – An Iranian lawmaker on Monday stressed Muslim countries should take a united stance against Israel in order to bring an end to the brutal massacre of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
Mohammad Reza Ahmadi reiterated Iran’s appeal to Arab states, asking them to cut ties with the Israeli regime and its vociferous supporters. The Parliament member emphasized that Muslim countries can only help Palestinians by coming up with a cohesive and effective response. He added that mere condemnations cannot change the behavior of Israeli leaders.
“Addressing international forums and especially Islamic countries, I ask, don't you see the heinous crimes Israel is committing in Palestine? Aren’t able to see the callous massacre of women and children? Muslim countries, free thinkers, and awakened youth, silence is no longer acceptable, the region must be made unsafe for the child-killing regime and its supporters,” stated the MP.
Zionists taking direct orders from Washington
Another Iranian lawmaker, pointing out President Ebrahim Raisi’s remarks at the Islamic-Arab Summit earlier this month, has highlighted the fact that the U.S. is not only participating in the war against Gaza, it is in fact directly orchestrating every crime committed by the Israeli regime.
“The President introduced America as a country that has given the order for the war on Gaza. Like he said, the child-killing Zionist regime is only abiding by Washington’s orders,” said Mojtaba Yousefi on Monday.
He added that the fact that thousands of women and children have been killed in only a month of war shows international bodies and the self-proclaimed defenders of human rights have failed to fulfill their rudimentary duties.
Referring to unprecedented pro-Palestine rallies that have taken place in the West in recent weeks, the MP stated, “People even attend football matches in European stadiums with symbolic clothing to say that the massacre must be stopped.”
More than 13,000 Palestinians have so far been killed during Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, with at least 70% of the casualties consisting of women and children. The Israeli regime is also targeting civilians sheltering in hospitals, schools, and refugee camps with direct fire.
Western governments have been taking concerted efforts to prevent a ceasefire in the besieged Gaza Strip. Israeli crimes in the impoverished territory have also barely engendered criticism from politicians in the West. Israel says it will only stop bombing Gaza once it has made sure that the enclave no longer poses any security threats to the regime. Many believe those remarks presage a full-scale genocide in Gaza.
